Eclectic Fashion Draws an Eclectic Crowd
The world of Second Life fashion covers all the styles of real life and goes even beyond what’s possible there. Fabulous Fashion does an excellent job of presenting a wide variety of the styles available. This week, fans of the show got an upclose look at KatatOnik Pidgeon and her eclectic designs. What’s true for the range of fashion styles can also be seen in Second Life residents as well. Avatars of every imaginable kind can be found around the grid and many of them are represented in the audience of the Fabulous Fashion taping each week.

( Elusyve Jewell and Helena Stringer )
This night i spotted the owner of The Stringer Mausoleum and Shrine, Helena Stringer. Helena designs hair that is not, in her own words, “mainstream”, but which has been featured in the style segment of the show in the past. She seemed to have some familiarity with KatotOnic already, “Kat, well she is all over, she has had some really good designers that have worked with her, and good bloggers that follower her, that’s the other part of an sl business, word of mouth, marketing, … and she isn’t an out of the box designer, she does her own works. I do love the colours, not enough designers play with colour. I really don’t understand why an awesome outfit has to be in only one shade.” Judging from the designs shown this night, KatotOnic agrees.

( Ivyana Szondi and Maxine Streeter )
Also present was Maxine Streeter, blogger and proprietor of Maxi Pad Home Accessories. I wondered if Maxine had been familiar with KatotOnic before tonight’s show and she shared her impressions with me, “No, my everyday style is more refined, however, I have really started to pick up some harajuku inspired pieces. I will be swinging by her shop to buy some stuff. I love to take pictures in fabulous clothes and her designs are top quality, which is something I look for. I’m glad she’s conscious of the butt (lol) alot of designers aren’t.” Perhaps Maxine has noticed the mark of a great designer.
One of the things that makes Second Life so great is the ability of its residents to express their sense of style in virtually any way imaginable. Fabulous Fashion continues to expand it’s fan base by embracing that fact and inviting guests that appeal to many different fashion senses. It’s always just as fun to see who shows up each show as it is to watch the show itself. If you haven’t had the chance to visit a taping yet, I’ll be watching for you.
