Fabulous and Sexy, All at Once
This week, Fabulous Fashion was visited by the staff and models of Sexy Second, Inc., a new Second Life magazine that is quickly developing notoriety. A good crowd showed up at the studio, possibly hoping to hear more of what’s in store for this venture. Or maybe they just wanted to see the sexy swimsuits presented by the lovely models. For whatever reason, this week’s show attracted a number of fashion industry notables.

( Risa Bright )
MAD Agency Director, Risa Bright stopped by this night. She’s not able to make it to the taping very often but is a fan of the show, “I don’t get here to see it so much but I have the TV at home. I wanted to see Jack and Belle and Anessa, I love their teaser mag and I am excited for their new launch. Monday nights I have another event I go to, I love to watch it at home. It’s so great to see designers and models on TV, I love SL fashion. Its a perfect show for seeing things I may not find otherwise.”

( Elusyve Jewell, dancer Dallagio, Oscar Page )
I think most everyone knows dancer Dallagio from her work with Stiletto Moody. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with her, you know how fun and articulate she is. She is also a very fashionable lady. I was happy to have the chance to get her views on the show, “I find the live format brings a vitally of-the-moment aspect into Second Life. This format is really good to find out more about the why and how behind designers bringing fashions into Second Life.” Dancer did have one small complaint to air to me, “They need to interview Stiletto Moody!!!” I cant really disagree with her on that one.

( Siddean Munro )
Designers are usually busy with their work. They tend to get so wrapped up in designing that many rarely get out to enjoy themselves. So it’s always nice when we have chance to meet them in a casual setting. The Fabulous Fashion live taping is one thing that does attract designers, especially if their work is to be featured. This night’s style segment included accessories from Slink and it’s owner, Siddean Munro, was in attendance. I learned this wasn’t her first encounter with the show, “I had an interview last year with Angie, it’s in the archives.” She also confirmed my earlier assertion, ” It’s always good to get out of the workshop and rub elbows with people, I don’t do it enough!” We hope to see you out and about more to enjoy SL, Siddean, as well as all the other hard working designers.

( Payton Heron )
Maybe the models on the show aren’t exactly audience, but they are fans and do spend the second half sitting and watching. This week, Payton Heron was one of them and she’s one of my favorite Second Life models, so I decided to include her comments here. Besides, she certainly fits this week’s theme, being both fabulous and sexy. Like most successful SL models, she’s often busy and can’t make it to the show unless she’s working on it. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t watch, “I have been a model like 5 or 6 times and always stay for the Stylist. I usually check it out the next day on the website or blog. The Guest Stylist has really been great to find new accessories each week.” So there we have one of Payton’s secret to being fabulous. Take note all you aspiring models, Payton is one you can learn a lot from.
Thanks to the fabulous Sharron Schuman for the photos, as usual you can see more of them on flickr.

Fabulous Fashion TV: Our Fans are Worldly Too
This past week, Fabulous Fashion demonstrated its global reach by featuring some of Second Life’s best Japanese designers. Even though this virtual world removes many of the barriers we face in the real world, language differences are still one that remains. So it was wonderful to see so many people in the audience here to support or learn about this night’s guests.

( Mami Jewell )
No matter what time of day an event in Second Life takes place, it will be inconvient for some parts of the world, but Mami Jewell, creator of the Azul brand of clothing, managed to get to this show. Mami is Japanese and came by to support her freind Kay Fairey who was the Guest Stylist this night and as Mami pointed out, “we are good friend and she is the busiest Japanese person in SL.” This was only the second time that Mami has managed to attend the taping and seemed glad she did, “I enjoyed it! It’s so fun that people talk about Japanese designers, there is huge problem of language, but TV introduces us, its wonderful.”

(Morgan Kincess, Belle Lefavre, Eboni Khan, Keno Breadmore )

( Kate Stockholm, Jackson Vantelli, CheerCoach4EJS Gymnast )
Of course, each night has it’s share of regulars, models Kate Stockholm, CheerCoach4EJS Gymnast and Jackson Vantelli, can often be seen at the taping. Jackson is also the CEO of Q-Group and I had the chance to get his impression of the new set, ” I like it, very open, not so much it draws your attention away from Angie and the guest.” And as for this night’s show, “I think having Iris [Ophelia, Managing Editor of Second Style] is nice, she got to really open up to a number of designers.”
Cheer is also a friend of Kay’s and wanted to be sure she was here this night but also likes to learn about new designers, “what she [Iris] is talking about is interesting. I love Japanese hair. [She] is covering alot.” As for Kay, she had this to say, “Her Av is always put together very stylish. She can even make goofy stuff look AMAZING.”
As always, Fabulous Fashion TV photographer Sharron Schuman provided the photos.

Japan Comes Fabulous Fashion TV!
The Japanese designers of Second Life are a tight knit community that offer some of the most creative and innovative designs on the grid. While they are known to many in the SL fashion community, they go mostly unknown to most residents. This Monday on Fabulous Fashion I sit with Iris Ophelia, well known blogger, Managing Editor of Second Style, and New World Notes Fashion Correspondent. Iris is a huge fan of Japanese designers and of Asian culture in SL and will share some of her insight into this wonderful community. You will also get to see some Fabulous ensembles that Iris has chosen from some her favorite designers.

This week’s Guest Stylist is Kay Fairey, avid blogger, Evane Model Agency CEO and Senior Writer for BOSL. Kay is also a lover of all things Japanese and will bring us some wonderful accessories created by Japanese Designers that you might not know about. . . but you should. These wonderful creations that may be less well known to you but are still Fashion Finds that you won’t regret tuning in for!
Please join our live audience this Monday at 6pm SLT at the Fabulous Fashion studio for a very special show! Doors open at 5:30pm PDT.

Fabulous Fashion TV: Men’s Fashion Has Fans Too
An oft heard complaint in Second Life is that it’s hard to find good quality and fashionable clothes for men. The truth is, there are some excellent designers of men’s fashion out there. This past Monday, Fabulous Fashion host Angie Mornington helped to make this point by inviting Limer Fredriksson of Hooorenbeek’s designs for men. Scanning the audience I spotted someone else who does his part to help men maintain a fashionable wardrobe, Oscar Page.

Oscar is often seen around the fashion world, always dressed impeccably, and is probably best known for his men’s fashion blog. Naturally, Hoorenbeek wasn’t an unknown to some one like Oscar, “I’ve actually known Ansor since near the beginning of the Hoorenbeek brand. Their quality has come a long, long way from the early days. I’m a Hoorenbeek man.
”
Something that men should consider, many women like their guys well dressed, especially when out in public. Do those guys that obviously haven’t spent a minute on the appearance of their avatars actually think they have a chance with women of class? Also in attendance this night was model Krystanna Wycliffe and her partner Basil Yuitza.

Notice that Basil takes pride in his appearance. As Krystanna told me, ” Basil loves Hoorenbeek, great shoes for men.” Krystanna has modeled on Fab Fashion in the past, so has seen the show from both sides, as a participant and viewer, ” I have really enjoyed the experience! I was just discussing how real it feels, as though we are at a talk show in rl.” This is a testament to the professional job done by the entire staff.
The retro store Artilleri was mentioned in the style segment this night and the owner, Antonia Marat was in attendance. She’s a fairly regular viewer of the show, she either visits the live tapings or watches on television from home and naturally wanted to be here this night.

This was her first view of the new set and shared her opinion with me, “First time I’ve been here and seen the new studio layout, looks FANTASTIC.” She wanted to be sure she was here this night, since Artilleri was being mentioned by Dahlinda Destiny on the style section of the show, “she contacted me last week about featuring some of my items in this segment so we got into talking and she seems really nice.” By her comments after the show, I think she was pleased, “That was awesome. Professional as always, the new set is fantastic… Hope to see you next week!”
Once again, thanks to Fabulous Fashion Photographer, Sharron Schuman for the photos seen here.
The show is now up for viewing here, enjoy!

Fabulous Fashion’s Fans Are Also Fabulous
Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington has become a favorite of many people, both inside the fashion world and out. In a little over a year it has developed a loyal following of fans that continues to grow. As with any TV show or publication, its success is dependent on its following of fans. Many of the fans of Fabulous Fashion are notables themselves, so we thought it would be fun to show you who shows up in the audience on a weekly basis and share some of their thoughts and comments with you.
This past Monday, the guest designers were Niki and Lila Axel and some recognizable names were seen in attendance. Former Fab Fashion guest and famous designer SySy Chapman was on hand. Here she is sitting with her friend Jackson Vantelli, the Q-Group CEO.

What’s most interesting about SySy being here is that the show tapes at 3 AM her time, so she doesn’t always make it. She tells me that she enjoys the show and listening to the other designers and attends if she happens to still be awake. Tonight, however, she was here to see the style segment of the show, “… I read on plurk [tha] Felicity would be here too.” Felicity Blumenthal, of ROLE Magazine was the Guest Stylist on the show this night.

Gianna Borgnine of Sand Castle Studios has become a regular viewer and she was in attendance again this night. Here’s Gianna (left) with Arabella Steadham (right) after the show swapping shopping tips with the staff and guests. Gianna is now much more than a fan of the show. She is very connected to the production through her company, ” We created the new logo for Fab Fash and their new intro and we are also handling all of those who want to advertise or sponsor the show. I have worked with Paisley for a very long time now so she approached us about doing the intros and handling the marketing for the shows, and since I am such a big fan, that made it a even better opportunity, so I was very excited.”

As anyone who has seen the show knows, several of the guest designer’s creations are modeled for discussion. It’s interesting to see who gets the opportunity to model the clothes each week. Modeling on the show has become a highlight desired by many models and this night I was surprised to see Tenshi Vielle on one of the stands. Tenshi is, of course, the owner of that infamous blog, Shopping Cart Disco. So how was it that she ended up modeling on Fab Fashion? Well, it seems that she is a friend of Niki and Lila Axel and they asked her to do it. “I’ve known them for about a month and a half or maybe two months. They’re really fantastic girls, really lively and hilarious. [The clothes] appeal to the two areas of my fashion personality. Some days I’m bright (things Lila has spearheaded) and some days I’m classic (Niki’s ideas) – they both work together passing PS’s back and forth which rocks so it’s got both their touches.”
Fabulous Fashion with Angie Mornington is taped Monday nights at 6 PM SLT and can be seen on the slcn.tv website. This past show was recorded in the new studio and for the first time will air in stunning high definition video. So if you can’t make the tapings, you can still catch the show.
Thanks to Fab Fashion Photographer Sharron Schuman for the photos. More can be seen on her flickr.
