Last Monday was one of the funniest shows that I have done. I had the pleasure of interviewing Cora and Ava Lu of Paper Couture or as we say here in Brooklyn, ”Paypah Cotuah!”. The Lu sisters were a riot and we were so busy laughing that I didn’t even realize that was my 50th show! I love it when reclusive designers come out of their shells and share some of themselves with the audience, so smooches again to Ava and Cora for being so fabulous. And special thanks to the models and of course Miss Vixie Rayna she is a ball of fun in her own right.
I also want to thank you the audience for making the first 50 shows a pleasure to host, I hope you enjoy the show as much as I do.

Just like in real life, some fashion labels here in Second Life command attention. One such brand is Paper Couture and its drawing power was evident this night as Angie’s interview with Ava and Cora Lu attracted one of the largest audiences for the live taping. Like most Second Life designers, and maybe even more so for them, the Lu’s are usually holed up in their workrooms busy designing clothes. So when given the opportunity, fashion aficionados are eager for the advanage to listen to and perhaps meet the people behind the amazing fashion they love.

Arabella Steadham was present this night. She has a familiarity with the Paper Couture and was happy for the chance to hear from the designers behind it. ”The guest this week is one of the best, as she has quite a unique style and does not design for either the ‘kmart’ shopper or the ‘high fashion’ shopper. She seems very open and non pretentious, which is a lovely breath of fresh air. Its a pity there are some technical glitches, however I know this happens and we all need to be patient! Last night with Paisley crashed the sim twice, so it could be worse. I particularly like the idea of showing the designers early creations, as it gives us an idea of the journey she has travelled in her own development to get to where she is today.”

Amazingly, amongst the crowd was at least one person not familiar with Ava and Cora Lu. This is probably due to the fact that Sage Pexie is a designer herself and spends most of her time designing. It was just coincidence that brought her to the studio for the first time, “I was interested in the show, never heard of the Lu’s.” As for the show she found it “Very interesting…. It shows the versatility of designers in SL” Perhaps one day we’ll see her on the show.

Paper Couture is one of the most well known design houses in SL and the Lu sisters have many fashionistas as fans. Tonight I will have the pleasure of chatting with the reclusive Ava and Cora Lu about the success of their line and what they have been up to lately.

This week featured Achariya Maktoum, Rusch Raymaker and Jesika Contepomi with a look at Rezzable’s The Future is Now event. Despite some sound issues we had a pretty good discussion about fashion concepts of the future and how fashion is indeed art. I also enjoyed our conversation about how people connect psychologically to their avatars, and how we use our avatars to represent certain aspects of our psyches. It has always been a fascinating topic to me (and I discovered to Achariya as well) and I plan on revisiting it soon.

Fans of Fabulous Fashion, both new and old, came to the studio for a glimpse of Rezzable’s view of future fashion. Angie’s guests this night were Rusch Raymaker of Avenue Inc. and Achariya Maktoum of Rezzable, who were there to discuss the futuristic fashions being shown at the recent Rezzable fashion event.

Nardcotix owner, Nardya Rousselot managed to make the show this night. She is a fan of the show but isn’t always able to make it to the live taping. She does manage to come on special nights however, “Usually when people I know are here, or events that I am part of, sometimes I miss it, depends on how busy I am. I really enjoy [Angie's interviews].” As it turned out, Nardya had a very good reason to be at this taping. She was asked to participate in the Rezzable event. “It was an honor to be part of it, I’ve always been a huge fan of them, so when I got the invitation I was thrilled.” In fact, Angie’s guest Rusch Raymaker was wearing one of her designs, “I spent extra time than usual for this one, I wanted it to have a unique feel to it, like a slimey alien leather type material. I created an environment from the future so to speak, then tried to imagine what kind of clothing you’d wear in that kind of place.”

Natasja Schumann was here to see the show for the first time, dressed appropriately for the theme. She enjoyed the show but unfortunately can’t make the live taping most nights. “This is my first time coming because they always make the show beyond my time.” Obviously, there is no time that is convenient for everyone around the world, so it’s a good thing that the show can also be seen on the Treet.TV website.

Applonia Criss of Chantkare is another designer that rarely gets the opportunity to make the live taping but came this time whan she heard that Rezzables was going to be on. “I love them, it’s a whole new element that I am excited to explore with my own brand.”

Fabulous Fashion Celebrates Menswear Fashion Week!
On Monday I sat with Rob Moonites to talk about the first Menswear Fashion Week. Guys make sure you watch this show some of the models were wearing newly released outfits from several designers who are making fabulous clothing for men. And Suti Capalini bought a great assortment of mens accessories, drop by the studio and click on the Accessories Display for the landmarks. Menswear Fashion Week continues throughout this week so stop by the KMADD event sim for special runway shows and to do some shopping. Congrats to Rob for making it happen and I look forward to more special events for Men!
